IHE Radiology invites you to attend a webinar describing an exciting new profile currently under development titled Import and Display of External Priors (IDEP). Prior imaging studies provide vital information and context to the radiologist when interpreting a current study. Unfortunately, it is very common for priors to be located outside the reading institution where they are not easily accessible. Although image sharing is possible, it often requires the manual transmission of images from one facility to another, the use of cumbersome web-based viewers, or the use of CD/DVD viewers. 

IDEP's intent is to enable the exchange of prior radiology studies and reports between different PACS systems within or between healthcare systems. From a clinical perspective, this means that radiology priors from other facilities will appear as local studies and be immediately accessible during the radiology reading process without having been manually sent or imported. This webinar will introduce the Clinical Use Cases and the proposed transactions required to make this work. It is also an opportunity prior to the public comment process to gain insight as well as provide knowledge and opinions for this profile! Please join us!
