In discussing the Patient Metrics section of the PRF Reporting Portal with a radiology client my first thought was that "visits" refers to E/M visits which are few and far between for a radiologist (other than IR) and Zeros should be entered. Then after reading the PRF User Guide, it talks about "patient encounters with a clinician" and I could argue that any hands-on procedure (fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, IR) where the physician meets the patient could be considered to be an encounter. This would be a time-consuming chore to determine the correct numbers.
So now I'm thinking it would be easier just to list the practice's procedure volume for all charges and let it go at that. I'm not too concerned because it's only an informational question, not determinant of the use of the grant funds. Anyone have thoughts on this?
Thanks,
John
