As rates rise for most of us, curious to know of long-standing med mal carriers that you would recommend.

We have been with our current carrier for MANY years; however, rates continue to increase.  I am trying to evaluate if this is industry wide and/or if you've had any success utilizing a broker to shop more competitive pricing.

Difficult to know who is truly reputable and therefore greatly value any thoughts you have regarding current coverage and/or experience using a broker as agent of record.

    Many thanks!

Despite our claims, our med mal has held steady. Our broker bullies our carrier (Norcal, now ProAssurance) for discounts. She price checks every year to see if we can get a better price anywhere else. Norcal also offers a 5% discount if our doctors do 2 hours of CME from their website.

Our broker is Amy Share if you'd like to reach out to her. They also handle our health insurance, disability, dental, and life. Her staff are SUPER responsive all the time. They're local to us in south Florida, but she likely can provide insurance for all over.

I'd like to remind everyone to ensure their Specialty/Classifications are correct.  We have a few rads working offsite.  They are classified as Radiology - Diagnostic - No Surgery.  Their rates are 80% lower than our onsite rads - Radiology - Interventional.

    Good luck out there.....Chris
