I have a group that is going to disband as of 02-28-2025.
The doctors will join a new group with additional partners on 03-01-2025 and work for that new practice.
Is there any reason for this group to reports MIPS for the 2024 exams as they will not exist in 2026 to get the bonus or the penalty?
We usually report thru a registry and I don't see a reason to pay $3000+ to report when they plan to disband the practice.

    Hi Rick

I'm pretty sure MIPS results follow the physician, and 2024 performance will potentially impact reimbursement at their new practice in 2026.    There are probably a lot of variables impacting whether it's a good idea for the current group to pay to submit.

Personally, I'm questioning whether it's worthwhile to do more than the minimum necessary to avoid a penalty in the future in view of the paltry incentive payments.

Yep. Reporting follows them on an individual basis.

Even if they always reported as a group?

Yes. The MIPS Score follows the group and the individual NPI.
