  • 1.  Evaluating radiologists productivity during COVID

    Posted 09-22-2020 12:23
    Hi,
Would anyone be willing to share how their practice is evaluating radiologists productivity during COVID?
Is anyone making adjustments to the radiologists yearly average like excluding shutdown months?

Our area of the country was shutdown (except for essential services) for 2+ months so it is difficult to get a valid average using all the months of 2020.
    I appreciate any feedback!

Please feel free to contact me offline to discuss in more detail.
    Thank you,
    Kerri

    Kerri
We look at the time they actually work.  If someone is on vacation, on administrative time or in the case of Covid had additional time off because of decreased volume, we do not count those days to divide the procedures or wRVU.  That is also how we even out for those working less than full-time.   We can compare someone working a couple shifts per month to someone working full time because we look at the average procedures, and wRVU/half day and do that within subspecialty.  What did get skewed for us is the average payment per wRVU and per half day during those months because of the delay in A/R.  We calculate the reports monthly but usually we report to the individuals by quarter.  We suspended the reporting for the April to June quarter even though we have the statistics.

For the time they are productively working we report
    Procedures
    wRVU
    half days worked
    Proc/half day
    wRVU/half day
wRVU/proc  - shows case mix or cherry picking variance within subspecialty
    Payments
    Payments/half day
Only leadership sees the payments.  We do not report the payments to the individual

Feel free to call me or email me privately if anyone has any questions.
