    Forum,
Is there a MIPS or ACR Quality Measure that calls for including a comparison to prior relevant studies when performing a LDCT lung cancer screening? (I've dug around but not found anything... maybe I'm just missing it...)

    Rick,

I have looked into this as well and do not see any CMS or ACR measure that monitors the comparison of prior relevant studies when doing LDCT lung cancer screening.

    Rick,

I would recommend checking out the ACR NRDR registry that supports data submission to the Lung Cancer Screening registry thru the 3 non-MIPS measures below. This is the only registry that includes this cluster of measures. Further the ACR NRDR will be hosting the following session focusing on LCSR.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress made in getting CMS to pay for LDCTs in an IDTF?  We are still getting denials on ours.

    Thanks for any responses,

    Billie,

RBMA has been very active with a coalition of organizations including (ACR, AQI and the Lung Cancer Alliance) to encourage CMS to issue a 'change request' to the February, 2015 NCD that would allow reimbursement for LDCT in an IDTF setting.  In fact, this was a primary issue that RBMA members to members of Congress on our Hill Day last week.  On Tuesday, October 2nd a bi-partisan letter was sent to HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CMS Administrator Seema Verma co-signed by 37 members of Congress encouraging reimbursement of LDCT in an IDTF setting.  I would encourage all RBMA members to send this letter and a note to their member of Congress encouraging support of this initiative.   I probably don't need to remind RBMA members that all 435 members of Congress are up for reelection so this is very good timing to seek support.  The letter is attached.
