Can a 100% hospital owned imaging center organize so that they operate under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule but NOT do so as an IDTF or have any phyhsician shared ownership?  I know if a hospital joint ventures with a rad group they can choose to operate as a physician practice, but I'm not sure if they can do so if there is no physician ownership.
    Thanks.

    Keith,

The center is owned by the hospital and is currently organized as an IDTF.  They don't want to remain an IDTF (finding their regs onerous, I guess), but still want to bill under MPFS.

They contract with their rads for interps; the rads are NOT employed.  The rads have no ownership interest.
