  • 1.  MRI documentation for patients with implantables

    Is there specific documentation required for MRIs done on patients with implantable devices?

    We are working on figuring out how to document the monitoring (RIS vs EPIC) and the question of required documentation came up.

    Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    We ALWAYS verify that implantable devices are safe.

    We require that patients provide model/serial number of the device and WE CALL THE MANUFACTURER to ensure safety.

    No matter what, I certainly wouldn't want to be scanned in a 3T MRI with any implantable devices!
