Does anyone have a policy on discretionary write offs, in cases where the patient cannot finish the study due to pain, claustrophobia or other anxiety, motion, etc? If so, what threshold(s) or other mechanisms do you use determine any fee adjustments? For example, if a patient is unable to complete anything more than the preliminary images of their CT or MR, how would you bill this patient/insurance?
