I've had conversations this week with two large radiology groups concerned about potential surprise billing legislation at the federal level.
If you aren't aware, there is proposed legislation being discussed in both the United States House and Senate that will dictate what you will be reimbursed for emergent services provided when you are out of network with commercial insurance carriers.
The final version of this legislation could have a significant impact on our industry going forward.
BE INFORMED and GET ENGAGED!
We need all hands on deck to help educate our government representatives on how this legislation will impact patient care and access. This is our opportunity to stand together as an industry and share our concerns directly with our congressional representatives.
Plan to attend RBMA's Learn conference:
https://www.rbma.org/learn
Join RBMA and fellow radiology professionals in Washington D.C., by attending the all-new blended format for LEARN in 2019. The program will include:
- Three webinars focused on current radiology business issues. ( Surprise Billing, Date ofService,2020 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule)
- High level and focused briefings in Washington, D.C., just prior to RBMA's Hill Day, with the opportunity to meet with fellow team members, practice how to communicate with congress effectively and discuss the policy asks for Hill Day 2019.
- Hill Day. Visit members of Congress and key staff leaders with your fellow RBMA members. In 2018, RBMA members visited over 50 Congressional offices to share the RBMA radiology business story.
