Looking for recommendations on vendors for physician credentialing (hospital and payer)-reviewing outsourcing and/or software options.Currently this is all done via paper by our credentialing specialist, looking at options to streamline this tedious process and would love to know what works best (or doesn't work) in the radiology setting.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Trina,

We have noticed that these days CAQH tends to house all of the provider data and a provider or designee can then send that data to payers and even create state specific forms from that system.  We also see a trend that payer contract credentialing are tied to the group's hospital privileging and thus the credentialing legwork is reduced.  I have also noticed in my experience that the credentialing staff do not really take the time to use the form filling components of commercial software, both because of the CAQH factor and because it is cumbersome and painful to set up (the staff still open up the Word document on their PC and use it), so the spend isn't quite worth it. If you find this logical or true in your case, consider finding a solution that focuses on credentialing from the standpoint of document storage with an advanced reminder system to prevent lapses.  Look for integrated solutions that also handle contract management and link these processes together.  There are systems that offer these components along with other administrative functionality in one solution (so you get much more value for your spend).   Feel free to reach out to me if you want to discuss.
