  • 1.  AUC at Critical Access Hospitals

    Has there been any additional information from CMS on how to report on a claim that a professional reading is for a service performed at a Critical Access Hospital and therefore exempt from AUC?    Many of these are read at a different location which has to be reported on the claim rather than the address of the Critical Access Hospital.

    I received the following from Katie in mid-Sept and have checked back more recently – Katie had no update at that time.

    I spoke to CMS staff last week and this is one of several issues on their radar. They are working through these issues and will provide additional guidance when they have developed solutions.
