  • 1.  PACS Help Desk Specialist Salary

    Good morning,
     We need to expand our in-house IT support team and are adding a new position..PACS Help Desk Specialist. We are hoping for feedback on an appropriate salary range for this position. We currently service 24 in-home workstations and our equipment in 5 hospitals. Details of the position are below.

    Duties/Responsibilities

     

    • Enters, prioritizes, and escalates service tickets via the ticket system (will build a ticketing system/knowledge base/pc tracking tool)
    • Maintains a professional positive attitude that communicates our brand to our clients.
    • Works directly with radiologists, site staff, and vendors, via the phone, onsite, and online, to provide services and help resolve computing problems.
    • Responds promptly to customer needs, escalates difficult customer situations, and solicits customer feedback to improve service.
    • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers on users' premises.
    • Loads appropriate PC software packages such as operating systems, networking components, PACS, Voice Recognition and office applications.
    • Works independently to Resolves general IT problems (PC hardware, PC software, etc.) in a timely manner.
    • Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues with computer systems.
    • Provides support and/or coverage to meet radiologist needs
    • Availability off-hours, need to be able to provide support to the radiologists 24/7 – sharing an on-call rotation
    • Maintains knowledge base and inventory tracking
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications desired:   

     

    • Education: Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience

     

    • Experience:  Two years of related experience including-
      • Technical helpdesk experience preferred
      • Experience with PC, Network and Microsoft Technology, CompTIA A+ Certification
      • Knowledge of PC Hardware/Software configuration and troubleshooting
      • Experience with healthcare applications preferred RIS, Interface Engine, including medical imaging applications PACS, Voice Recognition
      • PC image creation/deployment, SQL, PowerShell scripting
      • Experience utilizing remote monitoring & management software

     

    • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Microsoft Office 365 products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio); Internet, Intranet, WordPress

     

    • Reliable transportation required (mileage reimbursed), some remote work, local travel required Saratoga-Albany-Binghamton-Saranac Lake-Westchester-New Jersey
    • Customer service oriented
    • Troubleshooting skills

    Mark I think you are looking at $80-$100k based on the job description you supplied and the qualifications.  However, it will vary a quite a bit by region.

    Apparently there is a new OHSA ETS published on the 21 in the Federal Register for Healthcare Facilities that takes affect in 14 days for most portions of it.  In looking at who must comply here is a link to the flow chart to see if you are covered.

    In looking at this as an Imaging Center it does not look like I will have to comply based on the second box down on the flow chart as long as we continue to screen patients before entering.  Does anyone have further insight?
