    Posted 02-08-2019 10:08
    Good Morning,

We are a small hospital based practice of 8 Radiologists. A few of my Doctors were wanting to see if there was any other small practices under 15 doctors has passed the MIPS for medicare. We decided 2 years ago to start using a registry for our MIPS submission and I must say that was the best thing we did. Our Doctors wanted to get a feel to see what other small practices were doing and if they were successful/unsuccessful with MIPS being a small practice.
    Thanks

We started using the ACR registry a few years ago and we've had great results since then. You just, ideally, need to have some decent IT support on your end. Creating the files needed for the ACR registry is not for the faint of heart.

I billed for 2 separate hospital based groups in 2018 (one group has 4 doctors and the other groups has 6).

We submitted using Mingle Analytics Registry and both groups passed in 2017 and will pass in 2018 based on the point values we are seeing from our submission sheet.

    Melissa,

Yes, we have groups 15 and under and they have been able to score 100 points.  One great resource provided to small groups are the CMS provided entities supporting small groups found at the link below.  Indiana's entity is Altarum.  While I have not worked with Altarum, I have worked with others and have found them to be responsive with customized answers to my specific questions. They must have direct access to CMS because they find answers to difficult questions.

I recommend developing a relationship with the entity that serves your state and BEST OF ALL, it is free.  I hope this helps.

We are a small group of 3 Radiologists and have been using Mingle for years (before MIPS, we used them for PQRS). They have been very helpful throughout and we achieved the maximum MIPS incentive. Between the assistance from Mingle and Medinformatix, our RIS, the process has been very streamlined for our facility.
