  • 1.  CARES Provider Relief Fund Stimulus Payment

    Has anyone made a definitive determination to either attest and receive the HHS stimulus funds or to reject the funds?  What specific language in the Terms and Conditions led you to your decision? 

    We have made several attempts to review and interpret the language found in the Terms and Conditions, but we are unable to make a determination at this point.  If anyone has any clarity they can pass along, it would be greatly appreciated!

    I definitely plan to attest.  While the obligations are something to be aware of and take seriously, they are really negligible in terms of cost relative to the amount of the payment.  I really can't think of a business reason not to do it, but I would be interested to hear what gives others pause.

    Having said that, if I take my work hat off and put my taxpayer hat on, I invite you to return the money!  I shudder to think of the implications of all this deficit spending for the federal budget and the general economy.

    I agree that the Terms and Conditions are somewhat unclear.  However, my interpretation is that your practice will be fine if the funds are used to continue healthcare operations.  I think we will receive more guidance on what is required in the first quarterly report, due July 10th.  Keep solid records as always.

    I don't know about you, but the amount we received will be easy to use and document for authorized purposes.  It's just not that much money in the grand scheme of things, at least for us.
