We have dabbled in second opinion reads here and there over the years and are looking to make a more "formal" process internally. I am wondering if anyone has a set process for how they handle second opinions so we don't have to "reinvent the wheel."
We would like to know-
1. Do you offer second opinion reads for patients and physicians or just physicians?
2. Is there a "review" process when a case is submitted for a second opinion
before the Radiologist dictates?
3. What do you charge per case and do you collect the monies prior to reading the case?
We are just interested in knowing if you perform them and what the parameters are for these cases at your practices.
