  • 1.  Onboarding Remote Coders

    Posted 05-27-2020 09:57

    Hello,

I am interested in speaking with anyone who has a successful onboarding process in place for their remote coding staff.

Traditionally, we have always conducted on-site training. However, given the current conditions and the current workforce now working remote, this process has to do be handled differently.

    Please email me directly.

So we use Alife that has an auditing feature. We can choose a % of documents that would be put on hold for me to look at to see if these we coded correctly. If there is a discrepancy I can add a note and pend back to that specific coder to show them how it should be coded. We also set up go to meetings and these seem to be working out well. If you have any other question please feel free to ask.

    Thank You

    Hello Kim,
    A few questions for you:
    • Do you use a payroll/HR program you can utilize to send HR paperwork electronically? ex. Paylocity, Zenefits
    • If not can you use Docusign to send and receive these in a timely manner?
    • Is your group actively utilizing video conferencing platforms where you are able to screen share?
If the answer is yes to these questions then the actual on-boarding and training can be accomplished remotely.

If the individual requires hardware and set up this can be mailed to their home and IT can create a " how to" video with set up instructions or simply hop on a video chat to assist with any hardware set up needed.

Hope this was helpful, if you have further questions please let me know.  You can message me here you contact me on my cell below.

I am a big fan of iSolved from Infinisource.  https://www.isolvedhcm.com  It handles your payroll and HR functions, including enrollment with your insurance plans.  Your benefits insurance agent can have access so they can pull a census and do any updates, rather than you keying everything in.  And the entire suite costs a lot less than my client was paying ADP for payroll alone.  Their customer support is superb, as well.

    Kim,

Team Viewer and Log-me-in are good programs. You can also do Zoom or Go To Meeting and share the screen. We actually have a coder being trained for IR studies, and they are going to work on a computer in our conference room with the projector on the wall and the trainer will be there to help answer questions as the trainee performs the coding. That will be once a week and our conference room is really large. Our lead coder is not a fan of some of the available technology and would rather take the time to do it this way.

    Good luck!
