Our hospital partner is looking at introducing the concept of same day breast ultrasound and breast biopsy. In addition to workflow challenges, we are a bit worried about potential lost revenue due to this workflow. Does anyone have direct experience with billing both the ultrasound and biopsy on the same day? If so, what do you find is typical - is the ultrasound reimbursed at a discounted rate? Not reimbursed at all? Any feedback is appreciated.
