CMS articles I have read strongly recommend ordering providers include their credentials on the signature line of an imaging order or at some location on the document letterhead. We are finding several referral practices have EMR systems that cannot be configured to include that additional edit. Can anyone provide me feedback on if you are requiring physician credentials on radiology orders or are you accepting just a valid signature without the credentials?
As a follow up- has anyone had experience with auditors focusing on missing credentials on orders?
