  • 1.  Timely Filing limit, patient responsibility for Medicare

    ​​Good Morning,
        We currently are doing a write off for any Medicare patients that we get denial for timely filing limits(we don't get many). It has been brought to my attention that we can bill the patient 20% of the Medicare fee schedule allowed amount. Is anyone doing this?

    We do not. Even though the patient may be responsible for 20% co-insurance many patients have a supplement that would have picked up and paid that. You also cant bill the Medicare QMB patients at all.
