The 21st Century Cures Act of 2016 (Section 16004) instructed the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) not to enforce physician supervision requirements for outpatient therapeutic services in critical access hospitals (CAHs) and small rural hospitals through 2016. My understanding is that this has been extended. It specifically states therapeutic services and not diagnostic services. Anyone know if this may have an impact on contrast supervision in CAHs and small rural hospitals now or in the future?
Thanks,
Keith
