Good afternoon- I work for a hospital and code both PC and TC side of radiology charges. Sometimes our radiologist dictation are vague on what specific cancer the patient may have or just states "injury" when a CT Head is ordered with no findings.
Are we as radiology coders allowed to go to ordering doc notes to get more information or do we just code off of the radiologist notes?
Any information and resource on this would be appreciated.
