Can you please share the Maternity Leave policies you have in place for your partners? If you have Paternity policies and could share them as well, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Colorado Imaging recently decided to provide six weeks of paid leave for a full time physician on maternity/postpartum leave.  The physician may take additional unpaid time off in compliance with FMLA.  We do not have a paternity policy, but recently agreed that the company will pay to cover the day the female spouse/partner delivers the baby if the father/non-delivering doctor needs coverage.

Unfortunately, our group is becoming employed by our hospital.  We used to provide 6 weeks paid time off for maternity leave for full time physicians.  For paternity leave, it was 2 or 3 paid days off.

While we aren't legally obligated to do so, we generally follow FMLA guidelines in order to be competitive with larger organizations.  In our physician compensation model, all time off is unpaid.
