Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with regulations regarding physician assistants administering nuclear medicine isotopes or other nuclear medicine inject-ables? (Please excuse my ignorance on nuclear medicine in general - I know very little.) Is there any regulation that prohibits it? Is there some sort of certification required? Does anyone know the process or could point me in the right direction? I have searched online via the ACR, NCCPA and other various documents, but don't see anything specifically saying. Thanks!

Ashley – This is a state by state issue. You will need to contact the North Caroline Department of Nuclear Safety and see what their statues outline. You will also need to verify that the individual can be added to the nuclear medicine license for your facility. Hope that helps....
