  • 1.  P4P Metrics Used

    All,

    After 50 years as an independent radiology group, our radiologists are becoming employed / integrated by our hospital system.  The neuroradiologists and IR became employed 4-1-18.  The remaining radiologists (body, MSK, NM) will become employed on 1-1-20.  The hospital is requiring 10% of their compensation to be subject to P4P.

    Our hospital asked me to find out what P4P metrics that other radiology groups have used.  If you prefer, please contact me privately.

    Please contact me via email or at 417-894-0878 if you have any questions. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

    Hi Jay -

    My practice (33 providers) has a couple health systems that bonus us based on quality metrics.  These include
    *Peer review (not scoring) but a percentage of cases reviewed;
    *Tech quality control feedback with a certain budgeted number of feedbacks through a tool the health system created that integrates with PACs.
    * Quarterly tech education sessions
    * Critical Results metric compliance with TJC
    * ED TAT
    * Standardized report compliance - consensus statement utilization for TIRAD, Adnexal cyst, Adrenals, etc
    * Results reporting for CT Lung Screen, Dose registry, CT Colonography registry through the ACR
    * Radiologist physician engagement scores (Studer teachings about the more engaged the radiologists and staff are, the more committed to safety and quality) - metrics on improvements in scoring.  (yes, this poses conflict of interest in response to the survey tool)
    * Fluoro use documentation
    * Utilization management feedback and participation with CDS implementation and reporting compliance
    * Attendance/Leadership of various medical staff committees with imaging focus to build clinical collaborations

    Hope that helps.
