There are numerous legal cases in regards to IVC filters taking place. We recently started seeing CT Abdomen / Pelvis scans order for specific evaluation of the IVC with very strict reporting requests as to tile, degree of penetration in the wall of the vessel, etc. Ultimately these will probably end of in legal cases and most likely the interpreting radiologist will be required to participate in a deposition. We are considering just not performing these and letting them go somewhere else for these cases. Has anyone else seen these and what stance is your group taking on them?
