Has anyone had much success in educating the ER on appropriate ordering? The hospital employees the ER staff and we believe they should implement a metric and/or something to force their compliance.
We set up a task force that meets regularly with some of the ER leaders but very small improvements have been made. Also, we use CDS but we think they are selecting the very first option available just to by-pass the system.
Also, what obligation or responsibility do we as radiologists have in changing their ordering patterns?
