    Greetings all,
    This is a question for independent groups.  How do you provide HIPPA training for radiologists? Do you participate in training put on by the hospitals you read for or do you have training within the group? Do you have vendors you recommend?

    Hello Sharon,

     

    We are an independent practice and we do provide HIPAA training for all radiologists on an annual basis. We have asked our malpractice insurance company to provide this training at our annual Shareholders meeting and we invite non-Shareholder physicians to attend that portion of the meeting. For those that are unable to make it (vacation, night call) they are required to complete online training and sign an attestation form.

    Sharon, we use RBMA's HIPPA training and testing. Both the employee and doctor are to complete it.

    ​Hi Sharon,

    We use Healthcare Compliance Pros as our compliance solution which includes HIPAA training.  It is a great online tool that allows all employees including physicians to sign in and complete their annual training.  It tracks when it has been completed and sends reminders if it has not been done.

    Their solution is very robust and allows us to build our own program or use what they have already built, including a risk assessment.  We can also upload any of our documents such as our employee manual and policies.  They also answer our compliance questions when they arise, help us respond to any potential HIPAA violations, file an annual report, or assist us if we were ever cited for a violation.

    Hi Sharon,

    Checkout Compliatric.com; in addition to having a general HIPAA training for all staff, they also have a radiologist specific HIPAA training and five (5) additional deep dives for staff with certain responsibilities (like those who fulfill legal requests for information etc).  With a full P&P library for all compliance areas and incident reporting for breaches, its a complete solution.
