    I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share your policies for paternity leave?  Your input is greatly appreciated!

    We don't have a specific policy but paternity leave would be covered by FMLA.  The person would be eligible for 12 weeks of unpaid leave.  I hope that helps.  Julia

    Hi Julia,

    Thank you for your reply.  Our attorney has taken the position that FMLA does not apply to our partners because they are key employees, therefore we are eligible to use the key employee exemption from FMLA.  We work to move the schedule around and people will cover for the new dad, but we have no formal amount of time that we grant him and some of the younger father's are questioning this. 

     

    Do you make them use vacation time?
