We currently have a bi directional interface with a few of our referring physicians. They submit an order electronically into our EMR and we then schedule based on request, there is no paper order. The referring physician signs off on it electronically at the time they are putting in the order to us along with the exam needed – signs and symptoms. Would this be considered a order or do we need still a paper copy scanned in the patient record even though this is electronically done and in the patient record at the referring physicians office?
