In our practice, nurse practitioners perform some of the minor procedures, such as arthrograms, paracentesis and LPs.  We bill under the NP if they performed the procedure, as required.  However, my question is who actually dictates and signs the report?  Do you have a radiologist dictate but have them indicate in the report that the NP was the proceduralist, or do you have the NP dictate the study himself or herself?

In past groups where NP's performed these procedures, they dictated and signed their own reports.  I suppose there could be state-specific supervision requirements, so you might want to check that.
