Is there a national requirement that all Radiologists maintain their Controlled Substance Licenses? If not, might it be a requirement by state?

    Thank you.

    Keith,

I do not know if there is a national requirement.  However, our hospital requires each of our radiologists to maintain their DEA license along with the Missouri BNDD (Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs) license.

Please contact me via email or at 417-894-0878 if you have any questions. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

We are a private outpatient facility and were told years ago that since our Radiologists do not prescribe and we do not use or carry any regulated substances on-site, that we did not need to maintain a DEA license. We contacted the State Regulation Dept. and they agreed but told us to maintain a facility Controlled Substance license. If there is any federal regulatory change, please share!
