Our hospital-based group is looking at doing abbreviated breast MRI.  A couple of questions

          1) are any insurance companies paying for the service at this time?
          2) How are you coding for them?
          3) What are you charging for them?
          4) Are you doing any of these on a private pay basis?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.  If you would like to discuss off line my contact info is below

Hi Tony, Below are answers as they pertain to my group.

To add on to your questions, I would be interested in chatting with someone who has run a successful marketing campaign for abbreviated breast MRI.  Who did you target and how?

          1) are any insurance companies paying for the service at this time? - We haven't attempted this.

          2) How are you coding for them? - 76498 Unlisted procedure

          3) What are you charging for them? - $399

          4) Are you doing any of these on a private pay basis? - This is the only way we offer right now.

    Happy Weekend All!

One of our hospitals does them.  I believe it's strictly patient pay, and they charge $400.  The hospital pays us for the read.
