Our hospital partners Occ Med clinic is requesting a B Reader.  They anticipate around 20 cases per year.  Can anyone share how they handle these?

    Thanks, Kevin Ordway

You can either have one of your radiologists become certified as a B-Reader or look for a practice that you can subcontract with. If you look to subcontract, look to radiology group sin coal mining areas.

Keith,, thanks I was aware those are the options.

Can anyone share how they handle these?  Can you share who reads these for you or how you get around this requirement?

    Thank you,

Kevin – Sorry for the delayed response. You cannot get around the requirement. If the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requires an interpretation by a B-Reader, there is no other choice. There are 2 companies that will contract form B-Reads that I know of – National Diagnostic Imaging and DocPanel. There could be other providers but I am simply unaware of who they are. I would suggest reaching out to one of those I have listed or doing some additional research for other possible providers of B-Reader services.. .Hope that helps.
