    SPARK_LIVE_2024 - Thursday: June 20 and Friday June 21.

    Hi Rad Marketing Friends-

Just a reminder that our Spark Marketing Conference is coming up soon.

The link above will take you to the registration and info page.

We have some great topics that will resonate with so many of you.

Join me, Janinne Walker, and Kim Kelly as we facilitate the program.

I'll be leading Session 1 on Thurs, June 20, where we will discuss the basics of radiology marketing. And by basics, I don't mean basic! Whether you are new to rad marketing or have been around for a while, this session will offer something for you.

I'm thrilled to include two expert speakers who will take the (virtual) stage and share their wealth of knowledge. This session will be enriched by their perspectives and deep expertise.

Some thoughts on radiology marketing -

When we think about "radiology marketing" we often lump several jobs together under that one general term. The role of the liaison - the person out in the field building relationships, solving problems, gaining intel- I call this "outside" marketing.
Then there's "inside" marketing- which includes campaign creation, ad placements, web development, data analytics, budgeting, and more. This is the strategic and creative backbone of our marketing efforts.

    Do they overlap? Absolutely
Can one person do both jobs? Maybe...

But what we must consider is that these roles require specialized skills that are vastly different. When we make the assumption that our "marketing person" can do it all, we run the risk of creating unrealistic expectations followed by disappointment and potential failure. The person who is a genius at campaign development and data analytics might not be comfortable with visiting referring physicians and solving patient/physician issues. And the relationship management pro might not be experienced in data analytics or design. Again- entirely different experience and skills.

What are your thoughts on "inside" vs" "outside" marketing roles?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn about your experience.

We will discuss this and more in the first session. (have you registered yet?!)

I am happy to share that Maegan Moore will be leading the "outside marketing" discussion on outreach, liaisons, territory management, goals, and more. Maegan has a vast amount of experience and knowledge in this area and I learn something from her every time she speaks. This is an opportunity to learn from one of the brightest minds in radiology business.

Leading the "inside marketing" discussion is Dayna Leal (Fisher). For those of you who don't yet know Dayna, let me be the first to tell you how impressive she is! Dayna works closely with my dear friend Caroline Leger and their team heads up the radiology marketing efforts at Jefferson Radiology. Dayna is a tremendous source of knowledge on the creative side of campaign development, using metrics to track the success of those campaigns, working with outside resources (digital purchases, vendors, agencies), and is a hashtagprojectmanagement master!

Session Two (also Thursday) led by Kim Kelley, FRBMA.
Session Three (Friday) led by Janinne Walker

They both have great programs planned as well.  Can't wait to learn from all of our contributors.
All promise to be helpful, informative, and offer actionable takeaway lessons.
Join us! Registration link is at the top!
