Hi Doug
If by MAPS you mean Medicare Advantage plans, the answer is maybe! Depends on the plan type, and whether you or not you are contracted.
If it's a Private Fee For Service Plan, and you are out of network/non-contracted, they have to pay the MIPS incentive. See attached. Of course, there are several other types of Medicare Advantage Plans, and PFFS plans are becoming less prevalant.
If you have a contract, it's whatever the contract says. I personally have been working to amend contracts with mixed results, though at least I have started educating the plans about the issue...they seemed ignorant in the beginning. As the incentive gets bigger, obviously we'll be pushing harder.
If you don't have a contract, and it's not a Private Fee for Service Plan, then I believe it's whatever the plan's normal rate is...i.e. all bets are off.
Hope this helps!
Dave

Question: does anyone know if MAPS have to pay MIPS incentive payments.
If so - can you point me to the regulation?????
thanks
Geeze, flipping acronyms in healthcare, enough to make you think we are all speaking gibberish.
