Shelby,
As Tim, David, and Jim replied, this matter began long ago with Cardiac CT and resulted in all manner of "models". Before Cardiologists moved to Employment Model, many of the arrangements were "split reads" or a variant of same - especially if restricted to the Cardiologists patients only. Some went away when Cardiologists found that payments for the PC were less than an office visit and carried additional risk by some Malpractice Insurance providers. Once employed by Hospitals with RVU based compensation, the cardiologists came back to the table again.
Today with Cardiac MRI I suspect we will see more effort by Cardiologists to pursue this business.
Regardless of the "arrangement" selected I strongly recommend a provision, in whatever agreement chosen, includes a provision that the Cardiologists be responsible for "call" on these patients - not you - unless they pay you for call.
Good luck.

Right now we read all of them. The cardiologists are asking to read anything they order. This is an ongoing saga. I am very interested in how others are doing this as well.

How do most groups handle reading Cardiac MRI?
1. Do not read at all.
2. Read in conjunction with the Cardiologists.
3. Read all of the Cardiac MRI exam
Thanks!
