Our practice has utilized PA's since 2005. We have grown from a staff of 2 PA's to a staff of 15.
We work out of 7 different hospitals and have PA's working at 5 of them and one breast center. Our PA's do consults, consents, and are responsible for several different procedures (PICC's, paracentesis, thoracentesis, joint injections, lumbar punctures, and many more). They are considered an integral part of our practice. We are able to bill at (I think) 85% of Medicare, but our group has felt that the PA's free them up to do higher end procedures.
Feel free to reach out directly for more information.

Subject: PA use in Radiology department
Has anyone successfully incorporated a PA into your Radiology department? We currently have RRA on staff but I would like to understand the benefits of a PA and how you've assigned work for this individual(s). Because we are launching an office based IR program, it's prompted discussion of a PA over RRA.
If anyone can share some insight, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
