    ​​Good morning,

    I was hoping the forum could give me a quick pulse of what groups are typically offering new hires in terms of years to partnership, especially for new hires just out of residency or fellowship.  Our group has historically offered a 3 year track for partner but we are considering moving that up with how competitive the job market is currently.  Any feedback is appreciated.

    We gave 2 years to partnership for our most recent recruit (a year ago). 

    Some issues to consider are whether or not you have a buy in, is the new shareholder given equal voting rights day 1 with all other shareholders, same pay and benefits on day 1?

    You're correct, David, this was the January 3-10 Radiology Hot Topics poll question.  The report is under Resources - Data and Surveys, then click on the archives link.  

    Of the 83 respondents whose practice has a partnership track, eight (10 percent) indicated it is 1
    year or less; 41 (49 percent), 2 years; 30 (36 percent), 3 years; three (4 percent), 4 years; and one (1 percent), more than four years.

    We generally do a 3 year to shareholder track with a buy in.  Be happy to discuss in more detail.

    I think it boils down to how desirable your practice is.  There was a recent hot topics poll on the subject that you can check out.  There is a higher percentage of groups with a 2 year track, but there are still groups offering a three year track.  Colorado Imaging still offering three years, but Denver is a desirable market.

    We offer two years to partnership.  For the first week the individual receives 8 weeks of vacation.  For the second year they receive 10 weeks.
