How are you measuring your radiologists productivity - by procedures read or wRVU?  If by wRVU, do you have different quotas across the different reading modalities or same quota for everyone?  If you are willing to talk offline, I would be interested in knowing what your wRVU quotas are and how you determined the quota.

    Thank you,

We use work RVU's.  No quotas.  We do publish quarterly data that compares productivity by seat.

I am contemplating the possibility of creating a modified RVU system of our own, since wRVU's aren't a very accurate measure of time and effort.

Our group reads 100% for our own outpatient imaging centers, but we developed our own productivity system years ago where, using wRVU as a guideline scale, we converted all procedures to "minutes" which then allowed us to give radiologists "minutes" for all the other things outside of reading that they participate in on behalf of the practice.  Not a perfect system but it has worked, happy to talk offline.

We look at a host of things:
    Procedures
    wRVU
    Charges
    Collections
    Days worked
    Procedures/day worked
    wRVU/day worked

Come up w mean, medium, mode for each section (Dx / IR) based upon wRVU.
Break down by subspecialty as needed.

Slight standard deviation below the mean is acceptable.
    Generally no greater than 3%.
If below that threshold, then management speaks w the physician.
