  • 1.  Service for custodian of records for imaging

    We have closed our imaging center, and we are looking for a service that will maintain custodianship for our images and reports.  We can find plenty of places that will handle the diagnostic report, but we have not found a company that will manage the images.  Does anyone know of a custodianship company that will manage requests for prior imaging?

    It also appears that these companies charge the patient for the records, we would need to find one that does not charge the patient.

    If you haven't already, you might look into whether a competing facility would take custody, in hopes of capturing the future business from those patients/referring clinicians by virtue of easy access to priors.

    Thanks, David.  We have considered this option, but we would probably have to pay them.  We had three centers in town, and now 2 of us have closed.  The one that is left is already getting all of the patients that used to go to the two clinics.
