    Happy Friday all,

For those groups that use a radiologist to create/maintain the rad schedule do you

Provide time away from practicing to work on the schedule?

Provide any additional compensation such as financial or time off?

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

    J

We provide some time during work hours, but I would say the majority of it is volunteer time. There is no extra pay for this.

    Thanks,

Our group is like Carol's group.   Some scheduling is done at work. Usually, it is completed after hours for no extra pay.

We do the scheduling for the group but have a scheduling committee that reviews the schedule.
There is no added compensation or add time off. There is a lot of time spent by the committee on trying to equalizing
    call, weekends, vacations.

QGenda has been great for us.  Great way to put in all types of scheduling rules.  We schedule for about 13 locations, call, tumor board, vacations, admin time, etc.  Takes the long hours out of making sure the right people are in the right place.  Has a reporting function that lets you look at just about any equalization spreadsheet you could want.  If you set it up right on the front end, it does not require as much man power by a rad scheduler.  Vacation, changes, etc. can be made online through the software by rads as well.  Inexpensive.

That said, we have a rad that oversees it and does receive time to do this.

One of my clients pays $250/hour for preparing the schedule. Schedule is done manually.

Another client does not pay anything for schedule preparation or maintenance.  This client uses Amion software.

    Jeff,
We have 27 radiologists and we use Momentum software.  Because of the sub-specialization and call in our group, we provided admin time for our lead Radiologist to schedule equivalent to one day every month.  Because it had become so cumbersome, we have trained a department clerical coordinator to complete the schedules.  The Radiologist Lead has oversight of this process and still gets one day every month because of the growth in size of the group.

    Thanks,
    Amy
