  • 1.  Compensation differential for onsite versus remote shifts

    Have any groups adjusted compensation to reflect the difference between onsite and remote work? How was the differential established? Is there a multiplier to be shared? Any insight would be appreciated.

    I have seen adjustments to compensation for remote scanning for technologists only. Is that what you are referencing?

    Ours is in the form of a longer day for remote for the same comp.  9 hrs remote vs 8.5 onsite.

    Based on supply and demand it should probably be more.

    There are multiple ways to approach this but any way you slice it, there needs to be a differential that rewards the onsite doctors for meetings, committee's, drive time etc.....  We've experimented with a couple of different compensation methods from employment to work RVU based.  Fortunately, we've been successful at hiring remote at a lower cost than on site.  If you can't provide a differential organically, you may need to seek financial assistance from your facilities.  Financial assistance from facilities is the new norm.  If you wish to discuss details, feel free to contact me.

    I have seen a lot of per-day stipends for the physicians going on-site. Often, this is addressed as an added service with the facility.
