    Do you have a co-sign for Radiologists on the Final Report? What language do you use:  Transcribed by, Signed By, Interpreted By, Approved By?  Looking to share ideas when you have a new Radiologist and requires another radiologist to approve.

    Rachel,

     

    Unless you are in a teaching physician setting, there are some important compliance questions raised by your query. Whose NPI in your scenario would be used to designate the billing physician? It is imperative that the actual rendering physician be the only physician who attests to have performed the interpretation service when claims are submitted for payment.. Only that physician is eligible to receive payment from Medicare and other payors for the interpretation service.
