We are just desperate for PET techs!!!!!!!!   Is anyone else feeling our pain?   I have one lady that drives a couple of hours both ways to work and that is our ONLY tech!   Also, with PET techs, how many on a average scans is your facility doing?

    Thanks so much!

We do not have a shortage of PET Techs. We do run our facility lean.  We currently have 4 pet techs that work rotating schedules covering patients.  Our typical patient count per day on the scanner is 14.  We do open a couple of Saturday mornings a month and do on average 5-6 patients based on demand.

Yes, we struggle to get PET techs.  We have one full time permanent that leads the department and are paying a traveler at a very high rate.  We do an average of 14 PET's a week. No one seems to be going to school for this training in our surrounding area.
