    I HAVE A SITUATION.....   PATIENT UROLOGIST WANTS PATIENT TO HAVE PET SCAN PSMA AND CURRENT TREATING WANTS PATIENT TO HAVE WHOLE BODY PET FDG.   PATIENT IS MEDICARE SO TYPICALLY SCANS ARE DONE 50 DAYS APART.  1. HAS ANYONE EVER HAD THIS ISSUE?   2.  IF SO, DID MEDICARE PAY FOR BOTH SERVICES.   THANKS SO MUCH!

    We have done both a PSMA scan and a FDG scan within 50 days.   Of course it was denied, and I appealed the FDG scan , stating that another radiopharmaceutical,  sent the invoices of both drugs.   The appeal was favorable, and we did get paid.
