  • 1.  New AR Survey?

    Posted 11-15-2022 08:41
Forum - It was about a year ago that the 2021 AR survey was released. Has there been anything said about when a new AR survey will be released?

We participated in the 2021 survey data collection (and thus received a complimentary copy) but some of the benchmark results just didn't add up, causing me to doubt the accuracy of the survey. In short, I ended up disregarding the '21 survey and using the 2018 survey for our reporting. I'm also wondering if anyone else felt the 2021 survey results were questionable.

    Hi Rick,

The new survey should be released in the next few weeks.  After receiving constructive feedback on last year's survey, we made several changes to this year's version to add more clarity to the data input fields which will hopefully yield more consistent reporting.  We are currently testing the updated survey by having a few Data Committee members run sample data from their groups.

Thanks for reaching out, and we look forward to your participation this year.

    Bet regards,

    Rick,

One of the cool features of the Quinsite tool was the ability to dismiss outliers. This function should be enhanced in the new survey. The problem with any survey like this is we are dependent on the respondents giving good input. For example, in the last survey, we had several respondents with Net Collection Percentages above 200%. As was reviewed at several PaRADigm sessions on the A/R survey, the Quinsite tool allows you to ignore these and we showed people in these sessions how to do it. As Mark Canada said, we've added more definitions this time around. I personally felt that if you took out these outliers, the results from the survey were actually more valuable than in years' past due to the scattergraphs.  You could see exactly where you stood against your peers.

Thanks for your responses everyone. Regarding the idea of removing outliers, would it be possible to remove outliers from the PDF version of the results? (I think leaving it up to the end user to remove outliers could create a conflict of interests - or at least the appearance of.)

I agree with removing the outliers, but that will also change calculations for the key indicators so it would be a pretty large revision for the RBMA.  However, It would be very interesting to see how the key indicators would change as a result.  PK
