    Hello,

The OMB has approved the new Medicare ABN. I have compared the new Medicare Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) to the previous version and have determined that there are no changes, except for the expiration date at the bottom of the form. Is it possible to continue using the previous version and still be in compliance?

I am trying to avoid incurring the cost of installing the updated version in our billing system, if possible.

    Thanks!

Kim – I wish I had a answer for you. I agree it seems to be an added cost that is unnecessary if all that changed is the date of the document. But we all also know how "tricky" things can become when money is involved, so it might be best to ask your legal counsel so that you have a definitive answer...... Sorry I couldn't be of more help....
