    Hi,

In Texas is there anyone who can tell me if there is a problem with using a Radiology Practitioner Assistant to do IR procedures is supervised?

    Thanks,

Even if the RPA is permitted under Texas state law to perform such a physician service, a radiologist must be fully engaged and be "hands on" in personally performing the IR service for the radiology practice to bill Medicare using the radiologist's NPI as the rendering physician. To the extent permitted by state law, the RPA can assist the performing radiologist.
