Why would we expect our legislators to pass regulations and actually be able to timely and appropriately implement those same regulations??
it's rhetorical only.
Any while I'm commenting on the bureaucracy of healthcare, i also get just slightly agitated that we as rads, who operate on orders from referring MDs are put in the precarious position during RAC audits (audits in general) of providing H&P from referring MDs to ensure the order was appropriate.
seems this garbage has gained new momentum. if we have an order that should be all that is required and if upon post-payment review the powers that be find some insignificant issue with the ordering MDs medical records, go after them, not us.
oh - but we have to pay for the burgeoning federal debt.
guess it should be friday.

I noticed a couple of things today that might be of interest to those following the NSA balance billing limitations and related processes.
CMS has posted a link to submit complaints about payors not following the process: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/policies-and-resources/providers-submit-a-billing-complaint
CMS has also posted a list of approved IDR entities and their fees: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/Help-resolve-payment-disputes/certified-IDRE-list
I see no sign that the IDR portal is open yet, though in theory the deadline to submit some cases could have passed by now.
